Bike tip of the day

This is probably a big DUH to most of you, but put a bit of solder on your bike cable tip ends before threading. It's so easy it's a shame. I am so ashamed with my engineering background this didn't occur to me until someone mentioned it in passing the other day. Had to change my RD cable tonight, it took all of 2 minutes. Wow. Oh, and use clamp tips, because then you won't stab yourself by accident when you grab something down there.
