Bragging - I made the podium today in my 2nd tri

Just have to brag - and say thanks for all the great info on this site. I made the overall women's podium (2nd, 1 in AG)today in my 2nd ever triathlon. It was a super sprint (400m swim, 10k bike, 3k run) and I hemmed and hawed over doing it because the weather forecast was really bad up until last night. Some of you may have seen my thread about wind - forecasted gusts at 55 mph !! Last night we had so much wind that our power was out for 16 hours and thank goodness my daughter "'woke me up" (wasn't sleeping that well anyway) at midnight to say that the power was out. I was able to set my phone for 6:30 AM.

In any case, got to the race sight and the storm front was just blowing over. We had GREAT weather - despite one straight stretch on the bike with head winds. I made it out of the pool faster than I've ever done 400m in my life and was feeling great. And on the bike I passed all the women and took 1st place. Unfortunately, I lost 1st place on the run - my weak point. But, my run was better than I expected. I'm so thrilled. Can't believe I made it onto a podium.
