Hello BT!

4:15am:  5 mile run
5:15am:  Insanity Cardio Plyo

Today begins official training for the Spartan Beast on June 30--two months!  I have formed a team but so far I only have one taker!  Any people within the Utah area wanna join me?!

I can't believe today is the last day of April!  5 weeks left of school! Yippeee!  Uh, I mean, oh how I'll miss my little middle school munchkins. Tongue out

Have a fabulous day!

400 in the pool today just to keep the body active.   Maybe a bit of ST or calisthenics  this evening.   keep the muscles toned, but rested.

Shooting for 1800m in the pool and 4-5 mi running. The forecast calls for Thunderstorms, so the run may turn into a cycle session on the trainer. More episodes of SHAMELESS!

5:00 am - run through the neighborhood under a moonless sky. It is a great way to start the day and week.

Nothing else planned for today, unless you include trivia at the local sports bar tonight.

Kim, get ready for the Spartan. I'll have to decline, it'd be a bit of a commute for me, but I would if I could

Seems like I'm recovered from my bout with the flu.  Going to go out for a run and see how I feel ... maybe 6-8K easy.

Rest day. Had my longest week with 105 combined miles, including my first 50+ mile ride on Saturday.

Think I need another day of rest.  Did my first 5K ever on Friday, my right leg is hurting a bit.  Went out for about a 2mi run yesterday, it was doable but made me sore.  Still seems like such short runs but there getting easier at least.

Going swimming for the first time in a long, long time tomorrow.  I am very comfortable in the water, but I never really "swam" with any technique before.  Should be interesting.

Got in a nice 5 mile trail run at lunch, Got lucky and hit a break between downpours, Now that doesn't happen very often, usually its the other way around and I end up soaked to the bone.

Hi all! Did 1500 yards waiting for my swim lesson, probably did another 300-500 with my coach. Worked on some OWS sighting drills for my tri on Saturday and yet again worked on the pull for my right arm. I get lazy after about 400 yards, apparently. Good news is she wants to change lessons to every 3 weeks instead of once a week. Major kinks in my form are ironed out. Progress!

5 mile run after that. Feeling really good today.

Tuesday afternoon here in Australia!

I did swim squad last night and a new error occured for Coach Johnny to critique (personally I think he likes to make it all about me!)  He said my hand and elbow are entering the water at the same time...this is new from him so I'm wondering if it's just because I was tired...will ask him to check on Wednesday again...anyway tough session below - hopped out early it's recovery week!  In response to my "is it because I'm tired" the great man John Van Wisse said - "JoJo I DON'T CARE" - harsh but fair.

warm up with fins

600m broken up - 100m free, 100m back, 100m breast x2
50m front scull
50m mid scull
50m hip scull
50m fists

Main set no fins

4x250m broken up:
200m free
2x25m underwater off 60sec cycle.  Basically take a breath go deep and swim to the end without coming up.

I am very proud to say of the 6 in my lane I was the only one who could get to the end.  I did it every time!  Thought my head would explode but just reminded myself if I waqs in the pool messing around with my 7 year old daughter I would be doing this for fun and racing her to the end - made it easy.

The other guys stayed and did 2 more sets plus another set of 2x250 of Left Arm, Right Arm so I was glad I hopped out.

That's 2km done and it felt good to throw the arms over after a big weekend of training and emotion.

Had toast before squad and a huge bowl of pasta after, I am officially all carbed up!
