Subject: Dear BT...a love letter

Dear BT,

Two years ago this month I found you.  Two years ago, with your help, I successfully trained for my first triathlon and fell in love--not just with the race, but the lifestyle.  You would think that after two years some of the passion would fade, but no.  Every morning at 4am, I rise and train, and remain in love.  This morning, I did not recognize myself--my body has changed into a machine.  At 42 I look better than I have in my entire life...my weight is the lowest it has been since high school--I have learned to eat to fuel myself rather than to comfort myself.  My skin glows--each morning's sweatfest does something wonderful to my skin.  Where I was once uncomfortable calling myself a triathlete, I now embrace the title and wear it proudly, even if I never set foot anywhere near a podium.  I love you, dear BT, you and the people that I've come to know and learn from.  Thank you...I hope this love affair lasts forever.  Kiss

... though it would be great just to catch a whiff of a podium.

I agree. I have only been on here for a few months, but I totally agree.  My training has improved even more since completing my first!  I love it!

Perfectly put. I couldn't agree more.

(Except for the part about loving 4am.)

Just to clarify, this is about the website and not me (often called BT) or do I have that backwards?

We love you too, Kim. {MELON PRESS}

And you keep giving back to BT. So ... passing and increasing the love ...

Also, a big {MELON PRESS} to all the moderators ... and a special shout out to Ron and marmadaddy ... trust me, the less you see them, the harder they are working.

No fair!  You talk about a transformed body and glowing skin, and the only picture in your album is a bike (we like bikes)!

Glad you've enjoyed the amazing journey.  Thank you for taking time to appreciate it.

Well let's keep this lovefest rolling! I'll second all the praise you offered.

I like what you said about eating for fuel instead of comfort.

And at 42, feeling and looking the best ever, you can probably relate to the joke from SNL news this weekend "Facebook, on Friday, went public making the company worth $104 billion, though I don't know if you can really put a price on tag on watching your high school friends slowly get fatter."

I almost dont know what to do with an entire thread built on nothing but positive energy.    Other than to say I agree with the OP.

BT - love, love, love, love, love, love, llllllooooovvvveee and OMG so damned funny too!  I'm sure that this is the only website that has dogs trying to do triathlon on it and posting too (hey Mr Bones).....

I only found BT after doing my first 3 triathlons (how I did it alone I will NEVER know!), but I'm always learning new things on this site, regarding tri and many many many other things, which often make me snort hot tea, water, milk, beer, wine through my nose in extreme laughter/outrage.  Keep up all the fantastic work - BT moderators and all you crazy tri/fitness people out there Laughing  Keep the love, support and laughter flowing.....

I found this site, like others, by typing "triathlon beginner" (or something like that) in Google.  I have learned so much here, and met some great people.  Plus, people in "real life" get pretty tired of hearing about Triathlon all the time, so it's nice to know that there are other people out there who are as crazy as me
