I WAS half-way there, now I'm even closer!
Hit the 30 pound mark this morning!
Recovering from the busted femur, I also realized that I can't skip anymore, at least on my bad foot. with both feet, I'd get 30 or so in a row before failure, as well as on the good foot, but only 2-3, maybe 4 on the bad foot. Seriously felt like dead weight.
For the past 6 weeks, I worked on this 3-4 times a week, plyo workouts, the football "squares", falling on my face after 3 hops in a row on the bad foot, embarrassing myself trying to skip alternating legs.
After 5 weeks of seemingly NO improvements, but persevering, one day I could do 6 in a row on the bad leg, then 10-12, then 25.
This week i did 50 in a row on the bad leg, and hit a hundred alternating feet, and am now varying up skipping more. I used to dread it, but now I'm loving it!
Cycling, I've also cut 45 minutes off of my 100 km
( 62.1 mile
) time to 3:14
Averaged 30.8 km/h
( 19.1 mph
) for the trip
Have a 163 km ride
( a REAL century
) scheduled 2 1/2 weeks from now!
Registered the rest of the family at the gym/pool now
( wife + 5 y/o twin girls
) and registered the girls in swimming lessons. The wife is down almost 30 pounds as well, sure got motivated seeing how hard I was working!
Sorry for the long post, I just like to put it out there how well things are going, after they went so poorly a year and a half ago!
