Subject: Long Rides

Hi all,

Just interested if anyone can give advice on long rides....I'm not took happy on the main roads after being knocked off my bike. Are there any bike paths (no cars) that you can get a good ride on. I've been doing the Kew Boulevard but want something I can get into more of a rhythm. I've heard of some tracks near Altona...are they worth a go?

I use a track in Cranbourne - it's a little over 2km has a slight incline.  I've done 70km on there in one go, yeah it gets boring but it's sooooo safe!

i live in the Beach Road area and it's a bit hairy with traffic and bikes etc!

Have a look at the Federation Trail - I am pretty sure that's the one you are referring to.http://www.bicyclenetwork.com.au/media/vanilla/Cruising-Map-fed-trail-web(1).jpg

Yes thanks. Is the Federation trail any good for training, or is it really only a "bike ride with the kids" type of track?
