Subject: Starting Young My name is Whitney and I'm a senior in highschool. This summer I decided to go for the plunge and do a triathlon. I have a few years of running history, was on the swim team my junior year and have been an athlete my whole life, so I feel like this will be a challenge for me but I know I can do it.
Obviously I'm not going into this alone. One of my friends is training with me, but he made his workout and I made mine, and we will see who comes out on top! I just have a few questions, as would anyone doing this for their first time. I only have a mountain bike to train with, and I don't know how much of a difference it will make in the race but I'm lacking in resources to buy a new road bike, I'm sure they are really expensive. Should I worry about this?
Also the tri is on August 14, 2004. That's 2 months from now. With a strong athletic background, is that enough time to train?
I'm really excited about this. It definatly won't be my last race. I really want to continue training and racing as I get older. |
