I completed a sprint last week in 1:42:42, respectful not great (my 5th time over years on the same course). Essentially trained since January. Looking for a new challange. I'm considering doing an Olympic Distance in 8 weeks. Can't seem to make the mental leap to those distances. Especially the swim, which once I get past the start actually to pretty well in - approx 15 min 1/2 mile. Anyone experience the same trepidation in moving up? I truely marvel at those who start at this distance!!All words of wisdom greatly appreciated. thnx, Mark

stop counting laps and just swim by time. If you have a water proof countdown timer, it helps. Get a comfortable pace going and let the mind wander. next thing you know it's beeping 35 min or whatever.
As for the other 2, you gotta put in the distance with the bike and run. Can't cheat too much on thost.
