Has any one done this race before, I did a quick search for it on the site here and didn't see anything, maybe I missed it?

I have a friend that lives in Green Bay, and after doing the bike leg of a relay tri a couple of times (Trinona sprint) he now wants to put on his big boy under-roo's and do his own tri.

He doesn't know he could roll out of bed and put together a solid outing for a sprint but he is looking for one later in the summer that he can train up a little for and this one hit is radar.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts....

There is also a sprint in Oshkosh/Winneconnie the first weekend in August that I have heard good things about.  Information here:

I have not done this race, but I do know Manty like the back of my hand.  The swim is in the harbor, and the bike and run are along the lakefront.  Very flat course...beginner friendly.

I did this race a few years ago and it is very low key and relaxed atmosphere. As was said above, a very flat course. I recommend this race to a lot of first timers as well as the more experienced.

Check out: http://www.mtrymca.org/communityevents

This will be my first year participating but have seen the event a few years. The bike course goes right by my house. As was mentioned, the swim is in the harbor which is fairly protected from strong currents. The bike course is mostly flat with some hills thrown in. First and last 2.5 miles are along Memorial Dr which will be partially cordoned off from vehicular traffic. The rest is on country roads. The run is on the Mariners Trail which is flat and well maintained.
