let me start by saying that this web site is a fantastic resource!
I'm a total newbie to triathlons. My goal is to start with a sprint triathlon and eventually work up to an "Oly". I figure that in 1- 2 years I'll be ready for a half triathlon.
In about one month of training, I've dropped one size in my waist. I really can't see the change, but several people have asked me if I've lost weight. Guess that means I'm doing something right
Right now, I'm finding cycling the hardest part of training. Does anyone know of any web sites or other resources for improving in cycling? Thanks to all.

Welcome!  Sounds like a great start to your tri training!  And great goals!

As far as biking, I don't know of any websites, but basically keep your cadence up around 90 on flats, 80 on hills if possible.  That means revolutions of your pedals, by the way - maybe you knew that already.  A higher cadence and lower gear will save your legs!

Consider doing a long slow bike each week and interval training also.  Hill repeats are helpful too!

Good luck!

welcome dan.  kudos on the weightloss.  cycling will come, just put in the mileage and your fitness will increase over time...after u have a good sprint or oly base established, u can work in some interval, hill training and stuff.

Welcome Dan, and great job so far! I'll second the above advice on pedaling cadence...90 or so on the flats and 80-85 on the hills. I see too many people straining to pedal in large gears and they're worn out by 4 or 5 miles. Keep 'em spinning! Keep up the good work and you'll make your goals no problem.
