Overall Rank = 637/700
Age Group = 45-49
Age Group Rank = 31/34
Pre-race routine:

The race was really early. Jerry made breakfast sandwiches for bothe of us which really helped.
Swim
  • 21m 19s
  • 880 yards
  • 02m 25s / 100 yards
Comments:

It wasn't as bad as it looked. Overall, I totally surprised myself with how fast I was able to go and I was able to slow myself down when I began to get winded.
What would you do differently?:

I might swim further into the shore as it seemed hard to walk in that deep of water.
Transition 1
  • 04m 52s
Comments:

I must get faster at T1.
What would you do differently?:

I will probably practice this transition as much as possible. I think rolling up the sock is a good idea. (Thanks Jerry) Getting better laces and I'll just have to do a bunch of reading to figure things out.
Bike
  • 49m 32s
  • 12 miles
  • 14.54 mile/hr
Comments:

What a great new bike. So fast and so easy to ride!!!! I love to pass people on mountain bikes. This was the first time I had passed anyone ever!!!
What would you do differently?:

I would improve my overall conditioning so that I can keep up a faster cadence overall. I will practice more on hills because the same people that I passed on the flat passed me going up hill. I want shave about 10 or 15 minutes off that time. That will be a big goal.
Transition 2
  • 01m 57s
Comments:

This transition is really fast because I ride in my running shoes.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 41m 55s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 13m 31s  min/mile
Comments:

I attained my goal of running the whole thing except the hill which doesn't count because I was unable to train for that.
What would you do differently?:

Train, Train, Train!!!!! I need to go way faster to compete at the level that I want to.
Post race
Warm down:

Crossed the finish line, grabbed some water and a bagel. Spent some time eating then just left.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I was really sick the two weeks before the race. I think that not being able to train for those two weeks really made a difference. I have to remember that I am improving with every week. I just want to be a MOP'er not a BOP'er
