Anyone planning on an Ironman in 2013/2014?

I am planning on doing my first IM in 2013, likely something later in the season as I won't be able to get off work during the summer.  My understanding is that you need to sign up the day the race comes available or you can forget it; LP'13 is already sold out.  I'm looking at IM Panama City Beach.

I am in Middlesex; maybe an hour from you in Wmbg.

I want to do my first one next year, my buddy and I are thinking of Louisville but Arizona, FL and Cozumel are on the radar.  

I am in Newport News, we do all of our training rides from Jamestown HS and swim with the Masters Swim group @ Fort Eustis.

Actually riding for 2 hours this weekend not sure which day yet but normally leave between 5:30 and 6 am.  Most rides we average about 20 - 21 mph.  We do a lot of tempo rides as well and mostly ride the Patriots half route altering it to fit the timing/distance we have planned.   Also have a friend getting ready for IM FL for this riding out of Jamestown HS each weekend if your looking for longer rides now.  His average paces are a bit slower.

I believe AZ13 is sold out. Just reading through the thread in the other forum here, FL12 sold out in about 15 minutes.

I'd like to do FL13, as travel is probably cheaper than to Cozumel.

I would say most of our time is spent on the back roads off of Route 5 but have to admit it really has not been an issue.  Maybe because we ride so early.  The last 15 - 20 miles depending on the route is rode back on 5.

I am riding 42 miles on Sunday, hoping to keep about a 20 mph pace.  Hoping to roll out by 6 am if you are interested.

My training partner is training for the Patriots which is part of the reason we have been riding there. We have done part of that shop route leaving from the park by the Jamestown Ferry.
Tomorrow I am more concentrated on the time, 40 miles with those hill should be around 2 hours, the route I sent you I did a tempo ride on last time and was back in an hour fifty eight. 

If you think two hours would work and he can hold close to A pace I be up for it.
