Subject: Hello from Texas
I just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I live in Round Rock, Texas just outside of Austin. I completed my first Olympic tri this past Memorial Day and loved it. I did some triathlons about three years ago and then had two more kiddos. I'm doing the Danskin tomorrow and have a strong desire to complete a half ironman. Has anyone done the Tall Texan in Boerne and could tell me how it was....

Hello from Illinois:

Great to have another from the Lone Star State here!  You've found a great place for information and support.  Get familar with the log and "inspire" functions - accountability is key.

Welcome to BT!  Tri Hard and Enjoy.

Welcome to BT, I'm some what new here and I love it.  I'm sure you will too.

Looking forward to your Danskin race report.  My sister-in-law is doing that one in Seattle.

Good luck.

Welcome to BT!  I think that you will find an encouraging supportive community here.  I am a newbie - first tri will be 7/9, but I know you will find others who have done Tall Texan.  I have a good friend who did it about 3 yrs ago.  I can get a download for you (I haven't convinced him to start using BT yet since he already has a tracking program and he is stubborn/set in his ways ).

I visit my best friend in North Austin often (Wells Branch Area) for pleasure and business.  I will try to send you a note when I come that way.  I am always looking for places to train up there while on business or visiting.

 Take care and welcome!

WELCOME to BT Robin!!!!!  Another TEXAN!!!!

Good luck on your RACE!!!!   Can't wait to read your race report!

I have not done the race in Boerne...I'm new to triathlons (only 2 under my belt so far).

There must be someone on here who has...hopefully they will reply here.

Welcome Robin, from the better state to the east!

Don't know anything about Tall Texan, either, but consider IronStar on Conroe, October 29, as a potential HIM. It's supposed to be a good race, and it's later in the season (more time to get ready). Looks like there will be a healthy BT contingent there:

I'm going to look into that one, too. I saw you were from Cajun Country. My husband and I are both from Lafayette and moved to Austin about five years ago for his job. I'd love to go and do the Cajunman but my kids will be back in school and traveling to Louisiana with five kids for a short weekend just doesn't happen very often. Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome aboard. I also live in Austin. This is a really great group. Regarding the Tall Texan I heard from a friend that is a great race, the bike has lots of hills. I am already registered for the Ironstar 1/2 ironman. Good luck and welcome.
