Apart from some short course stuff where it fits, I am going to hit up the 70.3s again. I'll probably target April (Columbus vs Charleston), June (Raleigh NC vs Eagleman) and later season (doubtful on Augusta but something driving distance). Put your rough outlines here.

I pretty well decided on my 2013 schedule when I signed up to volunteer IMFL this year.  I'm doing two HIMs to prep for the full.  I will throw some short course races in as well, but my key races are: May - Gulf Coast, September - Augusta, November - IMFL

After 3 seasons of IMs I plan to move to the shorter stuff for 2 years. I'm tired of barely touching on the FOP, I want to be fast. Good thing about 3 years of distance training though is I feel like I finally have a good base to start really focusing on bringing my times down. Mainly, going from learning how to train to learning how to really race.

As far as specific schedules go, I will stick with the TTP series again mainly for ease of access and feasibility. Maybe the Rock n Rollman half in Macon for a long race, but everything else will be sprints and olympics. There are a few events I have never done that I hear great things about, like Chattanooga Waterpoint, Westpoint Lake and Tugaloo, that I would be interested in racing.

Feb-March: Hopefully a Half Mary or 2.

June: Rev3 Portland. Destination race to visit my old Philly roommates who moved to Portland, OR (Harv I hear it's low humidity and cool temps if you care to join?)

Nov: Most likely doing IMFL again. Timing works with my sched fairly well as well as cooler temps on race day.

Things will get plugged in as they come along, but those are the big picture things. Of course the TTP series will be worked in there as well as some Collegiate races.

For the first time since I started, I have no idea what to do about next year.  I'm all over the place.  I'm seriously considering the Tri Star Rio de Janeiro. http://www.star-events.cc/site/en/tristar-rio/racedetails111/courserj Looks awesome, and I've been wanting to go there for years.

I've also thought about doing mostly Xterra's, just because they're so much fun.  And my mountain biking skills are a little rusty.

Then I've considered going the marathon route. Not sure I can handle the monotony though.

I think I'm going to hold off on any decisions until after B2B.  If I can get a good time, I can qualify for the Halfmax Championship.  That would be fun to try to qualify for Long Course World Championships.

Luckily, I don't think any of those require me making a decision for a while yet.

Off season will equal lots of running and weight lifting to get my core stronger. Lots of offroad stuff because I miss it. Hoping to get couple of Halfs and a Full marathon in February-March 2013

April- Either Columbus or Charleston half iron

Then start building up slowly for an Ironman- I really want to to Ironman Kalmar which is in August in Sweden. Have a cousin that lives 3-4 hrs away from the race and it seems like an awesome venue.

Next year will be my only year to do an Ironman planning on kid #2 next year so I don't think Ironman would be feasible anytime after next year until kids are little grown.

Next year for sure will be an ironman year. I have really missed not training for and racing an ironman this year. On Friday, right before we left for the Peachtree City Sprint we found out my husband will be deploying to Afghanistan in about 40 days or so.

Will do sprint and olympic races as usual since I can do those on my own, but HIMs I like to have someone with me, so since hubby is deploying I would like my best friend to go with me, so which HIMs I do will depend on when I can fly my mother-in-law out here to stay with the kids for the weekend. I don't trust my own mother to do so, I once had her do it for a sprint when she was visiting and she lost one of my dogs, whom I fortunately found in one of my neighbors backyards.I am looking at the new Raleigh 70.3 since the terrain and weather is similar to Louisville

Fortunately Army deployment are now only 9 months, so hubby will be back in time for Ironman Louisville, I picked IM Lou as my Ironman again because I want revenge on that course and feel I could do better than I did last year.

...

I hadn't heard about Raleigh.  Very cool!  I graduated from NC State.  I can tell from the course description that this will be a great race - hilly enough, hot & humid, but not as much as Augusta, lots of shade trees, "real BBQ", etc.  Lake swim, not with a current, so it will keep you honest.  About 6 hours drive from ATL.  The downtown finish sounds fun, they have done a lot of redevelopment and have thriving shops, cafes, brew pub, hotels, etc within walking distance of the finish.  Otherwise there are "things to do" - museums, music, food, parks - for all ages.

SetUp Events has been putting on good races in Va, NC, SC, Ga and probably brought a lot of people into the sport, so probably there will be a lot of people signing up for this race.

Registration opens 8/31/12 at noon.

For the first time since I started this insanity, I can say I have not even given 2013 a thought other than a Mary in the Spring.  I have been actually thinking about taking a tri season off and do full time masters swim racing.   I have no direction (yet)

Since 2012 has been kind of a "lost" year for me I am eager to get 2013 started. I am planning to go down and do the Bone Island Half Iron in January (should be interesting training through the holidays) and then Gulf Coast and probably Augusta. I will do local races in between (i.e. West Point, Cartersville Duathlon, Allatoona Sprint, Red Top Olympic). I think a secondary goal of mine next year will be to get my run speed back, it's amazing how quickly it goes when you don't train.

Well, since I have already signed up with my Team Buttercup buddies, I must admit that I am already really excited about IM Lake Tahoe in Sept 2013.  Slowtwitch has posted a video of the bike course, which will be good for us to watch.

I do not know what the rest of the year will bring, but if the schedule permits I would like to do the summer lasters swim league and my 6th Ridges Resort 5K swim.

I have also already signed up for the Publix GA marathon, at which I would like to break 4 hrs. My PR there is only a bit slower than that, so it is a reasonable goal.  I'm also planning some sherpa-ing/volunteering for Doug's running races and if my legs cooperate maybe running some myself.

Actual races other than those listed above are all TBD.

Do you have any more info on this race? I searched and all I found was info for '12, not '13.

Can't decide, my initial plan was Disney goofy in jan, destin 50 in February, then Great Floridian in October. As I have said before I am not sure I want a late season IM. I may put CDA on the schedule if I can make the $ work. I am pretty sure the destin 50 is on though.

Besides the short course stuff, do a few HIMs (NOT raleigh, though. I can't imagine it would be fun given the time of year.) and hopefully IMFL! I too have missed long course training and racing, although I really like olympic and international distance.

Next year I'm moving up to Olympics. If I can get a spot, I want to do the new Rocketman Olympic plus tri (bike is 34 miles) that takes the bike leg into Kennedy Space Center in May, then a few century rides (or the shorter versions if I'm not quite to century -- GA400, Albany nut roll, six gap) and maybe 2 sprints locally. I also want to do the Peachtree road race for the 1st time, then I'll go for a season ender with Rev 3 Anderson Olympic.
