stjohn2912 - 2012-08-24 8:36 AM I started the watch and at the beginning of the 300, then hit the lap button at the 100 and 200 yard marks, finally hitting the stop button at the 300 yard mark. I was able to see the total time and 100 yard times but nothing to do with my stroke registered at all, no distance registered at all, only the time.

It seems to me that you did not press and hold the LAP button to save the workout after hitting STOP at the end.  You need to do that to see the details in History.

Also, you may need to configure the screens differently to see what you want.

Also, make sure to upload to GarminConnect so you can see a better breakdown (down to each length).

The first response should have it right.  After you are done with a "workout". Hit stop and reset (hold for 3 seconds).  Then you will be able to view more data.  All of that data will be available on Garmin Connect after you upload it though.

I use mine Garmin 910 all the time in the water and I usually get the info I'm looking for.  Main thing for me is stroke count, distance, and time.

Whenever I'm doing laps in the 25 yard pool, the distance increases by 25 yards about 10 feet off the wall so it always looks like I'm short on my distance until I hit the Lap button.

It's a great watch and Garmin Connect has SOOOOO much info.

Make sure after you are done you hit reset and hold for 3 seconds and then upload your data to garmin connect (the local program does not evaluate swim data. It's stupid.) Also, if you want more data visible on the watch, you have to set more screens and data fields. Make sure you have the watch set for pool swim and you should not have to hit lap every time you get to 100. You can auto set the lap lengths to 100 yards. Granted sometimes it drops laps and reads the wrong stroke, especially if you go slow (i am also kinda slow), but it beats hitting lap and counting my own laps.

So the answers here should fix the problem. Also, don't stop the work out. Do your sets, and then hit lap. In Garmin Connect you get all the data you want, but you can configure the screens to display what ever you want. Just be sure if you are doing lap for every set, then you will want to display "current lat" or "last lap" data.

I don't really look at the data for swim. I suppose stroke count is nice, but I don't really care. I do sets though and hit lap at the end of every set. I can go back and look at the work out on connect. What tip though that has worked great is auto alert. I "auto alert" every 100 yards. I can easily feel the vibration, but don't really hear the beep. It is really nice just counting 100 instead of laps.
