Subject: Cycling computer that fits on stem?
Hi folks. I am looking for a good (and inexpensive) computer that will fit on my bike with aerobars (ie not on the handlebars). I prefer wireless, but am open to suggestions. I don't need anything fancy like GPS. Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks!

Meg

Just about any computer will fit between the aerobars with a simple adapter.

I picked up a decent computer with cadence from PerformanceBike.com for around $25.

Just about any will fit on the stem sideways. The Cateye Double Wireless fits on the bars, but with a narrow clamp, and the compter itself sits in front of the stem (or above if you wish).

I think the Cicli ones attach tot he stem as well. Most companies will sell a stem mount as an after-market accessory.

I bought a wireless one at the bike shop, made by Trek, and it came with a stem adaptor.  I used that method because my aero bar clamps preclude putting it on the bars.  I used to have a Cat Eye that wasn't designed for stem mounting, but some creative work with a drill and boring some holes through the computer bracket allowed me to put a couple of zip ties through it and mount it on the stem.  That was a wireless model as well.  When it died I replaced it with the Trek model.

Sigma computers are designed to be able to be used both ways round so you can easily mount it on your stem.
I use on of the older models but I love it.

On my tri bike I mounted my computer on the stem, behind the aero bottle. I am going to relocate it to the aero bars with one of those adapters, as it is annoying to look that far down to keep an eye on cadence. I also went with wired but will probably upgrade to wireless, as it just doesn't look nice with all those wires hanging on it! Just my .02!
