All right.  So, who all will be making the trek over to Madison in 1.5 weeks?  I'll be flying solo this year - The Wife and The Kiddo won't be able to make it.  Fortunately, I've got a hotel room a couple blocks from Monona Terrace.  I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of a difference 2 additional years of training will make.

Bib #1693

We (My Wife, the Kids, and I) are staying about 6 miles from downtown, but I have a "chauffeur" to take me to the start race morning.

I can't wait to put the icing on this cake!

I'll be there!  Not racing.  Watching and cheering!  I'll try watching for bib numbers, but that's always hard...if you know what you'll be wearing, please tell us!

Good luck to all the racers of course.  My favorite part?  Watching the finishers that come in between hours 15 and 17.  What a sight!  Sometimes brings tears to my eyes.

TriRochester has 13 going this year. Look for the familiar TriRoch kits out there. I'll also be there as a super-fan. Jeremy and I are volunteering @ bike check in and will be out on course all day cheering. Can't wait!

I was SO stoked to cheer for team BeginnerTri-MN at the IMWI, and have been collecting bib numbers for weeks. Unfortunately some recent life events will likely keep me from attending.(Read: Need to de-stress, and find a new job - pronto!)Best of luck to everyone!!*GO GO GO!*

Oh No!  I'm sorry to hear that you won't be able to make it.  Good luck with the job situation.

If anyone would like to meet up, feel free to post here or send me an IM.  I plan on getting into town on Friday at lunch time.  In the mean time, enjoy your taper!

Looking forward to my inaugural full iron competition on Sunday.  The training has been less taxing than I had anticipated.  My longest week was about 16 training hours.  My wife told me that she actually prefers me training for several long course events instead of racing shorter distances every other weekend.  That said, I'm NOT doing another one next year.

I'll be one of several athletes in a red/white/black NOW Bikes kit.  See you all out there.

FoggyGoggles - 2012-09-10 1:57 PM Congrats Eric! How do you feel, Ironman?

Still feeling pretty stoked about the race.  The weather couldn't have been better, and the volunteers were AMAZING.  My primary goal was to run a sub-5:00 marathon and secondary was to  break 13:00 overall.  Somehow, I ran a 4:36 marathon and ended up with 12:32 at the end of the day.  This was a 110 minute improvement over my first IM.

Congrats to Jeff too for finishing his first IM.  We bumped into each other before heading into the water and then exchanged an epic high-five during the run.

After driving home and getting a good night's sleep, I'm starting to feel normal again.  Now it's time to tackle my next challenge: small flights of stairs.

Great job to everyone!! Eric, that seriously was a great race! It looks like you had it all dialed in for the perfect race for you. What an incredible run!!

Also, JeffreyB, congrats on your first. Great race!

Schmitty, great time as well.

On to recovery. I am actually more sore today than yesterday after Square Lake HIM on Sunday. I can't imagine what doubling that distance must have done to your bodies.

It was so cool to bump into a familar face not once but twice. I must not have looked too terrified on the way to the water Eric Smile. You absolutely killed it on Sunday, Congrats on a job well done! From beginning to end I had the BEST DAY EVER! I'm still on an IM high!
