Breaking story. 

Midwest Mayhem is scheduled for July 21, 2013.  No conflict with SMP Tri any more.

Heard rumors floating around that the KC Tri reg page is not longer even pointed to the 2012 race.  Just a broken link.  I haven't heard from anyone with the KC Tri about what's going on with it.

Midwest Mayhem, Meltdown and Jackson County Tri are all still planned.  They have sprint and long courses.  They may not be a technical olympic distance, but they come pretty close.

Sounds like wild speculation, since there's no mention of it on the KC Tri site, 5150 site or the Lifetime tri series site. 

Or could it be that information is trickling out to the participants just as slow as in the past through rumors and word of mouth?

Gasp.

It will be interesting to see if it pans out.  Hopefully there will be a way to get early bird pricing so those that want to race aren't looking at $100 a pop.

Where did you get May 18th?  Above you mention May 19th.  Just wondering if you found something specific.  Personally, I like the Saturday events.

Registration is indicated as open but no link. Guess some of the early bird pricing will not happen?

I am looking forward to seeing the historic cable cars of Lawrence and the Japanese gardens.  ;-)

It's hard to feel connected to the event and brand if they keep rebranding it and moving it. I hope they bring back early bird pricing even though the "reg date" has passed.  Otherwise I'll be chilling at Heritage Park triathlon.

Who found the site and how many website names did you have to try before you found it?  That's like a triathlon internet MacGyver!

Got a verbal confirmation that Lifetime Fitness bought the rights to the Kansas City Triathlon, which will be held sometime in July.

Innsbrook?  Where ya finding this info at?  It would be neato to have 2 5150 races close-ish by.

Came in 6th in AG at the Hyvee 5150 in Des Moines and I'm itching to get into the top 5 to get that 100 bucks back on principle, even if I have to spend 150 to do it.

I'm pumped for a second race down at Clinton Lake along with the 70.3.  Its a bit far from me, but it makes for a fun bike course.

Got an email confirmation that Lifetime has not bought the KC tri, yet.  They might or might not, but wouldn't elaborate.

Looks like St Louis will get theirs on June 29th, 2013.  Also, and this looks awesome, that there will be an option to do a combo registration for both.  That would be sick!!!

It would be cool if Life Time did put on the KC tri.  I've always heard that they put on top-notch events.  Has anyone had any experiences?  

I also thought the Ulatramax tri in Topeka was pretty well organized, so I'm probably pretty easy to please.
