Fact: I ran for 30 minutes or so and walked for an hour. And I didn't eat dinner.
Now: Ever since I woke up this morning, I have been feeling so sleepy that I can fall asleep without counting more than 10. I did eat breakfast and lunch.

Am I bonking? I plan to go home and take a nap today after work. No bike riding today.

Don't know if you are "bonking" but it does sound like maybe you need a rest day.

The bonk happens during your workout....when your body says I'm done.

You sound like you're overtraining or just plain tired

Take a nap

I've found that sometimes if you don't eat well the day before, and you work out, that you are then either (a) starving the next day or (b) tired the next day. Looks like you're at option b. Resting today is not bad, just don't use the tiredness as an excuse for bad nutrition.

Thanks celeb, that clears things up tons. World cup is to Europe...er...the rest of the world, as Football (NFL) is to America. Or is that wrong?

I don't know if you're bonking or not. I agree that it sounds like overtraining. Take a nap. Watch the world cup.

If it makes you feel any better, I feel the same way. I had the day off yesterday, and it was BEAUTIFUL! I played (trained) more than normal (and loved every minute of it), and now I'm tired. If given the chance, I'd do it all over again. I know it might sound crazy, but I had so much fun! I think I'll go to bed at 8:00 tonight...

Exactly.

On a Friday, I ate a big lunch, but skipped eating more than 200 calories for dinner to try to lose some weight.

Then on Saturday, I woke up to do a 40 mile ride in 100F heat. I ate around 700 calories for breakfast before the ride.

I was SO TIRED on the ride! My body HURT so bad. I had a headache... it was a struggle to keep up my speed. It was horrible!

In addition to that, if I workout at night, and don't get enough food in before I go to bed (trust me, I eat, but at some point I get sick of eating)... when I wake up in the morning, I am drained.

Eating properly is very important.

I had a similar experience last weekend with a post workout "bonk" type experience that was the result of not enough food/water combined with excessive (for me) workouts.  Took about a day and a half of pigging out and sleeping to come back to life.

Good thing this isn't in COJ or someone would post something like "if you don't know if you are boinking or not then you probably aren't."

I agree with the "tired, take a rest day" school of thought.

You'll know it when you bonk...
