Subject: Picture package for IMMT
I'm probably signing up for IM Mont Tremblant later tonight. I saw they have the photo package which includes all photos of you that they identify during the race in digital format for $99. Has anyone gotten the package? Is it worth it? This will be my first IM and probably my only at that distance. Thoughts?Thanks,Shane

I've always found the image quality sub par and have never bought any pictures from a WTC event.

That's exactly the kind of stuff I was looking for. If the images aren't better than family taking pictures, it's not worth the $100 for it. I can always buy one at regular price if there's a standout image. Thanks,Shane

I Have done IM Louisville twice and gotten the picture package both times. I was happy with their pictures for the first IM so I went ahead and got the discounted package this year as well. I felt the quality was rather good, and they also get pics at different spots on the course which familly may or may not be able to get. But you're right,  you could always buy individual pics after the event if one stands out to you, which is what I did for Muncie this year.

I wouldn't prepay for something like that.  You never know if they are going to get good shots of you.  I would figure you might pay about $20 more if you wait till after the race and see the proofs, which would be worth it to me to make my decision.  Also, you can see what type of pictures your family and friends got of you and maybe that will be enough to satisfy you.

Also, if you do opt for a photo package, it never hurts to ask the photo company if you can add pictures to your package.  The one time I was on the fence about buying a package, I emailed and asked if I could add about 20 other pictures to my profile.  Pictures of pros, the mass swim start, and other random shots.  They said yes, so it made it worth it for *me*.
