Subject: RE: 100 runs in 100 days csikes - 2012-09-13 11:42 PM I'm currently on day 109 of what started out as a Runner's World summer challenge to run at least a mile a day. Some days it sucks to go and not just be able to take a complete rest day but overall I think it's been a good decision. Since starting the streak, I think I've become more aware of what I'm feeling each day in terms of what kind of soreness or pain is in my legs. I also haven't bailed on a scheduled run since starting. I'm faster and feel better overall. THAT'S what I'm really hoping for. I tend to run through soreness and pain and I don't think I can do it anymore at 52. My idea to do this is to keep a high frequency but a lower volume while I figure out the tipping point for injury....something I've really never had to deal with. This year was hard on me. I have battled ITBS and PF for most of the year. My miles at 510 for the year represent a pretty good fight from me. Even though it's much lower than I have done the last few years, it's been MUCH harder. (my logs for last year only represent the last 2 or 3 months when I started to log) I'm pain free right now after ~20 runs in the last 6 weeks, for the first time in 6 months, so I'm going to give it a go.
