I signed up along with 4 friends.  We are the MOM SQUAD, running our first ultra.

Any course-specific suggestions are appreciated to include logistics.  We're driving down that morning which doesn't appear to be a big deal from the website.

Looking forward to a great run with some cool, crisp late fall Chicago weather.

are you referring to lakefront 50-50?  If so, I'm doing it this year too.  last year the weather was absolutely PERFECT.  parking is pretty easy but tends to fill up so try to get there at least 1 hr early so you don't have to park in remote parking lot.

3 loop course and last loop is such a GREAT feeling.

50/50 is a great race.  i have done it many times.

its a 3 loop course.  there is a drop bag spot at the start of each loop so if you think you will need something you can put it there.  Its not secure so I would not put anything too big in there.

If your support group station half way in the course they will see you 6 times.   Its really not that bad just a lot of waiting.

parking has never been an issue there is couple of lots right there.  I think there are only 300 people in the 2 races so its pretty quite.  If I survive the marathon I might try for the 50/50 myself.  If not maybe next year.  I done it 3 times already.

aid stations have food, coke, water and Gatorade.

It's flat and fast and pretty easy as far as 50Ks go.

It got cold the year I did it but nothing too bad. Good times.

mr2tony - I found your race review and shared it with my friends.  Loved it esp the part about what would have made it better...only 6 miles instead of 31.  Good stuff.
