Subject: First Tri (70.3) Complete!

Hey all,

 

23 year old from Pittsuburgh here.

After completing my first half marathon in May (1:37), I signed up for my first tri, Poconos 70.3, which was last weekend (A little ambitious haha). I went from not being able to swim 25 yards to tackling the 1.2 mile swim right away.

I survived with a 5:48 time, and look forward to getting a ton of advice from this forum as I train for a Full IM (FL?) next year!

Great job!!!  I hear IMFL fills up in a few minutes and your best chance to get in is to volunteer at the event.

Very ambitious but I'm excited for you!

Thanks for the welcome all!

Plan is to sign up for IM FL as soon as it opens (If possible), or sign up for 70.3 Pays D'Aix (France), which is in Sept. 2013.

France would give me an opportunity to explore a new place, and try and improve my 1/2 time (Instead of trying to just finish an IM), with a goal of 5:10.
