Jacobs sounds like a sweetie in the post-race interview.  Good on him.

He IS a sweetie.

And I bawled at Blazeman.

So ooey-gooey'ed out with this year's champs and it's so good.

FoggyGoggles - 2012-10-13 7:35 PM For some reason I am only seeing the womens feed. Is there a channel for mens?

That's hilarious.  It did get stuck on Steffen for awhile and unfortunately missed "the pass."  Frankly, I don't complain about Steffen coverage.

Nor do I. I get a kick out of it every time she pours ice water down her shorts. That's what has been holding me back from performing well all this time. A hot crotch.

What a great race today! Still watching the AGers coming in. Way to go triathletes!

Well, I'm spying on the ol girls that broke the mold J.Moss and K. Mccartney, they didn't have run splits when I checked and darn it, I'm gonna have to hit the hay. It's been amazing watching this race, such spirit and strength, very inspirational.

Not sure if you're aware, but what they're doing is trying to cool off the femoral arteries. Some of the biggest in the body, and they run right through that area. Others with full suits will try to work the ice down to there.

Yess....the hottest guys in tri (in my opinion) go 1-2!  I want a pin-up poster of the podium. And kudos to poor Rinny for finishing. She looked like she was absolutely going to melt into the pavement at the finish line. Been there, done that (melting at finish, not IM finish)!

Anyone else crying right now?

I tuned in just in time for the last half hour of he finish line, after a night's sleep following 10 hours of online coverage ysterday.

just in time to see Bonner, the first Ironman with cerebral palsy, fireman Rob, and several elderly finishers, including the amazing Lew Hollander, and the final finisher, Harriet Anderson.

i'll try to think of them when I get any sense of quitting next week at my flat, cool, half-iron race.

I was too drained to watch any more - been up since 3.30am today watching, then watching the Melbourne marathon while livestreaming on my phone - I'm beat!  Did Sister Madonna make it!?

Felt so sorry for the BOP age groupers in the swim, the swell was huge by the time they got out, bet they lost a few nervous swimmers (not literally!)

I only saw the last half hour, so I don't know about Sister Madonna. As for the swim, there may have been some pulled off course, but the last two guys to come in just made the cutoff, at least the live feed commentator matt Lieto gave that indication.

Watched the final 30 minutes or so at home and "live" was atrocious--3 seconds on, five seconds off, over and over and over. Did manage to see Harriet Anderson finish, after a jerky fashion. So glad she made it and what a great end to the day!  Think I would have thrown the computer out the window if she hadn't. (I was in tears and about to do so after the four-second lady last year.....). I'm glad I didn't see the swim (the start was at midnight VN time) or I would have been in tears from the get-go, not over competitors, but swim withdrawl and Hawaii withdrawl.

That was great. Had a Kona party and plugged the computer into the big screen so we could watch. Lotta beer consumed

I wanted Caroline Steffan to win, but Leanda Cave came through with a gutty, "I-am-not-to-be-denied" performance. That move she made around mile 23 was unbelievable. She looked like she was hurting, you could see a hitch in her step, and then she put the hammer down. Shades of Chrissie's 2011 win.
