After 12 months of sloth and weight gain I think Muskoka 70.3 might make a good 'A' race to get back into into 'it'.  The price is good.

I heard the race is filling up faster this year than in previous years.  I just signed up...that midwinter kick in the butt....

Also saw on the website for Trisport Canada that TriMuskoka who works with them to do stuff for the race is hosting a tri conference in May with Joe Friel and a whole bunch of pros and coaches.  Just checked it out.  Looks awesome.  I am going to sign up for that, and part of it is to preview the run for the new run course for the 70.3.  Any advantage....

All the details are on the trimuskoka website

Hello everyone

How is the driving / parking / accessing the race site if you do not stay at Deerhurst

Missed my opportunity for accommodation for this race

On Sat you can park your car at Deerhurst to unload your bike and then drive to the Parking area (Airstrip) 5 min away. You leave your car there and take a bus to Deerhurst to complete the registration. It's easier if your wife drops you (and your bike) and then she drives to the parking. On Sat there is one bus running non stop to and from the parking so your wait is close to 10 min at the most. On race day they put one more bus in the morning.

After the race, I picked up my bike and gear from transition while my wife brought the car from the parking. We met 300 m East from DH, loaded the bike and left.

The first time I did this race I stayed in a hotel in Huntsville and the second time we rented a cottage in South Portage. Both times I stayed with my family and the logistic was smooth.

Hope this helps.

Thank you

That is a relief - will sign up shortly; have a place booked down town Hunstville

Trying to find races that match the family weekend activities is not funny

Good luck for this upcoming season

Hi there everyone,

From where to stay, to where to eat, to where to train....don't forget about our local website that is designed specifically for this purpose.  Given the number of events that we have in our area, our organization has developed a website as a "Triathletes Trip Advisor".

Go to our site www.trimuskoka.com and click on Eat.Sleep.Shop.Play at the top menu.

We are in the midst of updating the site, but the accommodation businesses that support us have TriMuskoka rates or perks, and options range from cottage rentals to small resorts.

Don't forget about the Muskoka TriSummit  featuring Joe Friel this coming May that we are hosting.  All of the details are on our website main page.

This is Joe's only speaking engagement in Canada this year.  We also have a lot of pros and coaches speaking as well.

There is an early bird rate and draw for people registering before March 22nd, so don't miss out.  Pass this on....we want as many athletes and clubs to take advantage of this, and it is hard to reach everyone!

Thanks, and spread the word about our site, and the Summit!

President, TriMuskoka
