Double red flags. I saw 2 athletes attempting to swim in it. They got pummled. Cmon people!! Flags are up for a reason. Luckily both are ok.

Also, they will have a place near transition to drop them off. For bike, it will probably be that back of a uhaul since they will need to drive them out on the course. The run special need will be right next to transition.

I'm sure glad today is not race day! The water was awesome fun, but I wouldn't want to race in it. They recorded wind gust at the airport of 117 mph.

Must be the storm before the beautiful calm day. It's going to be awesome - good luck everyone! Say hi when you pass me. I'll be wearing BT tri top.

Good luck everyone!

I hope to see many of you out on the course. We often cheer in the out and back section around SN on the bike.

Great day, weather was near perfect considering the day before. I saw Yasha on the run, he looked great. Ran into Kathy G post race and chatted awhile. I got to the finisher gear line at 4:20 am and was #2 in line, line was crazy long when I left. Thanks for the practice swims with you guys, Fri was a treat in those waves! Race report will come soon, Jim

Hey guys, hope everyone had a great race!

I updated the Google Document to add finishing time and comments.

My race went great and I set a new PR of 50 minutes for a 12:20 finish. I had some severe stomach cramps from about mile 85 on the bike thru the finish because I screwed up my nutrition plan due to taper madness. On long rides I usually go with my Infinit nutrition with protein for first 3 hours to keep my hunger down and then switch to non-protein mix last few hours. I forgot my non-protein mix and was extremely bloated and nauseous for last bit of bike and all of the run. I still managed new PR's in all 3 disciplines but it's tough knowing I could've easily taken a hour off my run time had I prepped better. That's how the cookie crumbles though and that is part of why we keep doing these things, to keep improving.

Just wanted to say a big thanks to this group, I've learned a lot. Hopefully some of y'all are doing IM CHOO CHOO (Chattanooga) next year and can hang out in my back yard.

Glad to hear your race went well, I had my best race also (race report done) and I'll see you in Chattanooga! Jim

Race went great for me also, set a PR by 43min. I did go out to fast on the run and lost time on the back end as a result. 11:26 finish.
I'll see you guys in Chattanooga, I'm going to try and clean up my eating, get to race weight (at least 20lbs lighter) and try to break 11hrs.
