Subject: IM FL 2013 Places to stay
Does anyone have any recommendations on family friendly places to stay at IM FL 2013? My first choice of Laketown Wharf filled up before I could reserve a room. The host hotel hasn't posted rates or returned calls. Wife and son want to be within walking distance to the festivities so I am limited to being right there on Thomas Dr. Thanks in advance!

It filled up as fast as the IM did!  There were availabilities last week, then i procrastinated and tried to book a place this morning to find a dreaded message in red that my request could not be filled, please pick a new date.  OUCH

Tried to book through VRBO.COM and there were only 4 units available but they were looking for week or month long snow birds.

Oh well - I'll learn to listen to my wife when she says "book that place now ..... "

Try Shoresof Panama or Long Beach Resort. V RBO.com is a great resource, as previously mentioned.

^^^This^^^  I stayed at Shores of Panama, and it was perfect.  Only about 1/4 mile from the host hotel, and a full kitchen, so I could control my nutrition.

It is my understanding the Boardwalk hotel and condos sold out the same day of registration. They were onsite taking reservations in the IM registration tent. The condos MAY have some availability with the 3 bedroom condos because they were not taking orders for the 3 bedrooms on site and suggested you call. The host condo definitely jacks up the price and they require a minimum 5 night stay, but my wife and I really love the convenience.

Note: For clarification, the Boardwalk hotel is the host hotel but the Boardwalk Beach Resort is a different building which is directly adjacent to the Boardwalk hotel.

As others suggested, I have heard good things about the Shores of Panama.

I know several people who did not book their place to stay until Sept and still were able to stay fairly close.

+1 on SHores of Panama. Went through bookthatcondo.com stayed in room 2016.. 1 bedroom with bunks which worked for us and the kids.. nice place, 21st floor with a great view..

I just booked 2 rooms at Shores of Panama. The rep mentioned they only had 5 rooms available the week of IMFL and after. I reserved two for my family and my friend's family so that only leaves 3 rooms available now. Frown Its a close walk to the host hotel and more importantly only a few steps away from Waffle House! Cool
