How do ya'll clean your HR monitor strap?  Can you submerse the entire strap in soapy water and let it soak??

I have a Polar and wash the fabric part that comes off in washing machine. The hard other part I figure gets clean when I swim with it.  In addition, sometimes I do clean it was liquid soap and crude gets built up in these indent places I pick it out and wash it.

Cool you are doing IMFL, I'm planning coming to spectate! I'll be there cheering you on!

Glad you posted this- I was wondering as well. Could you just throw the strap in the washing machine and let it air dry?

I usually just wear mine into the shower and rinse it off really well.  Of course, that assumes you take a shower after working out...

I have a Polar
I've had it for a little over a year now. I make sure I follow the instructions it came with. I always immediately throw it in the sink with soapy water, let it sit there (underwater), while I shower, then rinse a few times (make sure soap is off), and hang dry. Never had a problem with smell or functionality.

If I feel it's time for a bit more attention, I simply rub some soap into it with my hands to make sure it absorbs well and do like described above.

i have a polar and it looks like everyone does it pretty similar. i rinse it off in the sink when i finish working out and then let it soak in clean water for a bit. then i rinse it again under running water and hang it over the shower curtain to dry.
