Subject: Prayers for a Fallen Officer

This morning, two Memphis Police Officers were shot. One female officer was killed, leaving behind 4 young daughters. the other officer is in critical condition.

I know there are many threads about guns going around on BT, and this is not meant to start a gun control debate, but only to remember these families involved in this tragedy and the young girls that lost their mother.

As a Police Officer, its really hard to hear these stories in the news day after day. Statistically speaking, a Police Officer is killed in the line of Duty every 54hrs in the USA. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the Officers.

I bet there are, but that is why we censor ourselves for the good.

So, so sad, as mentioned earlier.

Last night I took my family to stand alongside the route of the "Sea of Blue" for the Officer's memorial. there were over 1000 police vehicles, as far as the eye could see with their blue lights flashing. It was very moving and gave me a chance to explain to my children what it meant.

That very cool. We have lost way to many officers this year.

Agreed. Police Officers, Firemen, and Solders are real heroes. God bless and protect all of you.

That made me chuckle.

You are right....there are words, and actions,  I'd deem more appropriate if I didn't believe in the greater good.

Thank you for doing that with your family. It does mean alot to the Officers in the procession to see citizens take the time out of their day to watch the procession and pay their respects. I had to bury 2 friends/fellow officers this year and it was great to see so many citizens standing outside their homes, cars on the side of the road, churches, schools, etc.
