jarvy01 - 2013-05-03 7:18 AM I swam my fastest 800TT ever this morning (11:01).  I'm so close to dipping into the 10s.  I'm very pleased with my progress in the pool.  Huge improvement from last year.  Even better than the improvement is the fact that I love swimming more and more each day

Wow....just wow!! You are so fast in the water.

Kuma - 2013-05-02 8:19 PM In advance of the race on Sunday, do any of you more experienced folks have any plans you recommend for how to pace an Olympic (particularly for a rookie who's weak in the run) and also how to pace nutrition/hydration?  There are lots and lots of plans online, but many of them seem to conflict and I'm having a hard time figuring out what I should try.  Would certainly appreciate any suggestions...

Swim slightly above your all day pace.  Let your HR recover on the bike a bit, and start to build.  At about 1/3rd of the way through the bike take a gel and drop the hammer.  1 bottle on the bike.  On the run start out fast and continue to push as long as possible.  Take in sports drink at every aid station.

Wow you sound like me.  The only thing I would add is when Scott says "let your HR recover" he doesn't mean go easy, he just means hold back a tiny bit before you start to build.  Both the bike and run in an Olympic should be at just at or above LT.  It should feel hard.

Huh, go figure.  Sprints and Olys you should be tasting the last gel you took in with about half a mile left to go on the run.

New mentor group is live.  Kelly and I are co-mentoring so the title will change.
