Subject: Occasional knee pain

I was wondering if anyone could help

I have been suffering occasional knee pain for the 5 or 6 weeks. I think i may have pushed to hard on a set of hill sprints.

Most of the time i am OK, running Ok cycling ok etc.

It is every now and then it manifests itself.

 - At first hurt when i Kicked my shoes off, but this is not as bad now
 - When i sleep with my leg straight it sometimes hurts when i first bed it
 - when i carry out a turn and push off during swimming i have to be carfull

the pain manifests itself under and on the outside of me knee

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Will

What are those pain reliever your taking of? Have you done x-ray? I think you should consult your doctor right away before getting worse.

Hope to hear you soon.

I agree with doc but when I asked about mine the doc wasnt much help. I started taking Cosamin Asu, not cheap but suppose to soften cartiladge. Aside from an occasion temp little twinge knee pain has not come back.

Good Luck!

Does it occur mainly on the bike or the run? If it is the bike, have you recently made adjustments or purchased a new bike and have you been fitted? If it manifests itself mainly on the runs, have you changed shoe types (cushioned vs flats), brands, etc?

A change in either of these two areas, or both, would likely result in knee pain.
