Cyclists turned Triathletes

Hi from South Texas! No, not San Antonio. I mean deep, South Texas. I'm from McAllen. It's less than 10 miles from the Mexico border. Flat land makes for easy riding. Strong winds give the workout. Warm weather nearly year-round makes our swimming easy. I'm part of a women's cycling group, turned triathlets. Each of our founders has a terrific story, from one who lost more than 150 pounds to another who overcame paralysis and cancer. We had our goal of a century ride. That goal was met May 5, 2012. Now, our sights are one something we all throught was crazy. We're training for Ironman. Triathlon highlights our group's strengh. Some are strong swimmers, some runners, we are all cyclists. Triathlon feeds our ambition and fuels our passions. I've been watching these forums for a while. I just thought it was time to say, hi :-)
