Had a great 1.2 mile swim at Walden Pond and a 25 mile training ride around Concord, and we were delighted to have the presence of "Ironman Tom" aka "Madcow" who was visiting from San Diego.  We tried to take it easy on him, laughing it up in the water and not hammering too hard on the hills, since it's been but a week since Ironman CDA.  And we even tried to put some energy back into him by dragging him to Kimball's Ice Cream stand at the 18 mile mark of the bike ride!

Here's the group, second photo L/R...Tom (madcow), DK (celeb_ithil), Max, Joanne (tri_again), Amanda (akabak), Kathy (KathyG)

It was a fabulous day and great way to meet West Coast BTer! Joanne put together a fabulous ride through historic MA, which I always say riding through an area is the best way to get a feel for the place.  It was great to ride with two Ironmen and us BT MA women!

Fun day of training..thanks everyone who made it out today!!

It was great to meet you Tom! Thanks for sharing about your two IM experiences...helps me dream a bit more!

Oooh, Walden Pond! You're making me miss it. Used to swim/bike there back in 2002, the FIRST time I thought I was getting into tri. (The second time it stuck!) Fantastic place to train.

Hey, nice lookin' group of people too!

Thank you everybody. That has been the highlight of my trip so far. I really enjoyed seeing all of you and the area. I can't believeh ow far you all traveled just to meet with me. BT is such a wonderful place. Joanne put together an incredible ride and should seriously consider opening her own bike tour company. Amanda is so funny in her own subtle way. Kathy, thank you so much for organizing everything and thank your husband for me too. I have been crossing off all of those restuarants on his list Denise is just awesome. I really appreciate you taking the time to come and get me and showing me around the Boston area. I still am amazed at how trusting we are when it comes to meeting people we only talk to online. And last but not least, Max. You are the true Ironman. Only 3 weeks out from IMLP and you are more than ready for that race. I could tell in just that short ride that you could have put the hammer down on me at anytime. Thanks for hanging out and not dropping me. You are all first class people and have done the MABTers proud. If any of you ever make it out to So Cal, let me know and I will return the favor

Thanks again

Tom
