Headed to my brother's place in Cleveland over Memorial weekend for his 40th bday party.  Saturday morning there's a little local sprint tri outside of Cleveland that I figured I might as well do if I'm going to be up that way.  Nothing worth travelling with the bike so hoping someone may know of a place around Cleveland I can rent a roadie?  I'll be up around Mayfield Heights but am open to anything.

I don't know of anything off the top of my head, but I'll check around.

If a 58cm Cervelo would work for ya, you can borrow one of mine.  I have a 2011 P1 and am currently building up a 2001 P2K frame as a roadie, both are 58's.

Appreciate the assistance!  58 is probably a touch large for me but thanks for the awesome offer.

Check Century Cycles, locations Rocky River or Peninsula.  I'm pretty sure they rent bikes for the towpath.

Let me know which event, and I'll see what I can think of.  My wife and I have entered the sprint at Clay's Park the same weekend.

Clay's Park would be the one.  Since I'll be in town I decided to just see what turned up for events and that looked like the closest one

I had no idea that there was even a tri there at all.

If I wasn't anticipating my legs being beat to hell from the Cleveland Marathon the week before, I'd totally do this race.

I bought a Jamis road bike from the LBS in Canal Fulton a few years ago.  I remember he had used bikes for sale, and the towpath runs through Canal Fulton so I'm sure they'd rent.  I think the shop has a different name now though, Towpath Bikes, Inc.

You're killin' me!  Yeah, I probably will, hehe.

Clay's Park is a great park, too.  I'm doing a Warrior Dash there in August.

I just emailed my bike shop (Bike Authority) to see if they know of anyone.  They're a tri shop, too, as well as the only USAT certified retailer in Ohio.

That's why I'm doing the Columbus marathon in Oct.  Then its an OK time to shut'er down.

My wife has a 30 year old Schwin thats in good running shape.  I could talk her into lending it out.  My brother used it to commute to work a few dozen miles last year.  My dad has a Coca-Cola mountain bike he got as a promo.  Its brand new but I wouldn't push her too hard.  Keep posting we'll set you up.

I'll ask here, but sent ya a PM as well.... what size bike are ya looking for?

Bike Authority is asking - I think they may be able to hook you up.

And I'll shoot off another email to Bike Authority as he hasn't responded since the last email asking your size.

Just as an update, I just shot an email off to them again to ask for a follow-up as he never replied after I gave him your bike size.

And just that fast I heard back from Sherman, the owner.

I sent you this in a PM, but I just wanted to put it here so that folks get an idea of just how great of a shop Bike Authority is.  He says that he can probably hook you up with something for free, you'd just have to leave a deposit on it.

Contact info for him is in the PM.

Probably should update this.  I got a hold of Sherman and he most certainly believes he'll be able to hook me up.  Super freaking cool dude and huge thanks to Greg for setting this up.  I am now indebted at least one coffee to Greg

I'm rather shameless in what I'll do for a coffee, hehe

Glad he got you hooked up!  I'll be registering for that sprint tomorrow
