Moved to Indy last fall. I am trying to find charity rides, etc.. On weekends so I can get some long distance rides in a safe environment. Does anyone know where to look for such events? Was living ingeorgia and it was always active there with rides but can't find much here. Also, do people use this message board? Seems pretty empty ever time I check here. Not much talking going on. Any Saturday group rides anywhere?

Check out www.cibaride.org

One of the oldest and largest cycling clubs in the country.  Weekend rides started on Sunday (3/17) and will continue through November.  Week night training rides too.  CIBA is road bike focused, but there are always a few tri bikes on the rides....just watch the aero bars.

+1

Been a CIBA member for years.  Well-supported rides which usu attract a wide range of riders. Routes are well-planned by experienced local cyclists with long options typically 40-60mi.  Most rides the lead group ave's 22-24+mph, and anyone ~15-16+mph will have some company.  But please ride those aerobars ONLY off the front... or off the back
