Subject: Newbie in Atlanta 2
Hi. My name is Timothy. I have just decided to begin training for a tri. When I say I am starting from the ground up, I do mean the ground up. I have done a lot of running in the past, but that has been about 3 years past. my swimming and cycling skills are virtually non existant. So this will be a great opportunity for everyone to watch ;-) A little about myself. I am 32yo, single, 170#, 5'7". I live in midtown and travel a lot for work (which will present another great challenge/opportunity). I am grateful for this website, because without it I probably would not have the support structure to continue more than a little while. I am looking forward to success and fitness that this sport brings. Best of luck to all of you.

Check out tri-atlanta.org. Also, there's a great store dedicated to tri sports, called All 3 Sports up off of northridge and 400. Have all the goodies.

Hi Timothy,

Another Atlantan here! I am training for my first and selected the High Falls tri in Jackson (south of Atlanta about 40 minutes?). I am told everyone is very positive there and novice friendly. The race director suggested I sign up as a novice which will put me in the 5th and final wave.........which I am fine with. Hope to see you there on August 21st (yes, you still have time in my mind).

I'm still looking at races and trying to set a realistic schedule. I am looking forward to this more every day. I am thinking about entering some smaller road races to give me some guideposts as I progress toward my first tri. Thanks for the encouragement. Best of luck to you in your goals
