Good choices!  This is my 4th year doing Snake River, have you done it before?  Also, only 3rd go at Bloomsday and 1st Troika entry.

It is my first at snake river, 2nd tri ever. I did the palouse sprint tri last fall.

I grew up in Spokane, so I did Bloomsday once awhile back, maybe 1996, then again last year. I managed to score a second seed time, so no more elbowing through the first 2 miles for me!

What time are you shooting for this weekend? I'd be lucky to swim 8:30, but will try to make up a bunch of spots with ~35 for bike/T2 and ~12 on the run.

Cool, and nice job on the second seed!  What are you hoping for time wise?  This year I am doing corporate cup so I am avoiding a vast majority of the crowds, I ran a 52:09 last year, hoping to bust 50 this year.

As for this weekend, I want to beat my last years time of 56:44.  I went 8:13 on the swim (I should be a fair bit under 8 this year as a couple of my practice TT's have had me low to mid 7's), 34:44 on the bike and 13:48 on the run.  Also looking to get that run sub 13.  We will see.  What age group are you in?  Under USAT I am in the 45-49 group, for this tri, they may still keep me in the 40-44 group?

Last year I did 52:30 at Bloomsday starting midpack in the yellow group. I am shooting for a 6-6:10 pace this year for a 45 minute finish?

I'd imagine the age group is based on age on race day since that is what they specifically asked for on the registration. But since they have your birthday, they certainly could follow USAT. Either case, I'll be in the M25-29.

Looking back at last years results, it looks like you were passing a lot of people on the bike. Were there any crowding issues? Considering the course is open for traffic, did you find the fast swimmers/slow bikers held you up?

There was never a crowding issue at all.  I was talking to a buddy about this last night and he agrees.

Cool, good to know. Perhaps I'll see you around down there tomorrow. I'll be in all black two piece kit on a black/yellow felt and a mismatched blue/black pointy helmet.

Not a bit crowd so it's likely.  Black and red kit, cervelo p1, Superman tattoo on left calf.  Good luck tomorrow!

I wondered, you went by me looking pretty good I thought, then I caught you on the return and was surprised.  Thanks, overall I am happy with my performance.

There was a train of 4 or 5 guys in front of us when I caught up to you. The leader was in my age group, so I probably used up all I had to catch him. Once I had that, everything started hurting, and my only goal was to keep that lead!

I worried I was going to blow up on the run a little myself.  I kept seeing calves with ages in the low 40's, I ended up passing 3 of them.
