Subject: B / C Races during 70.3 Trainning

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask for some feedback. I am preping for Cozumel 70.3 Sept 22.

I have 2 races planned as part of my preparation, one is "C" Race, its a Semi Oly distance (1/30/7 k's) This race will be at the end of Base 2 week (its at the end of a recovery week), instead of a race there is a 10k planned.

B Race is an Oly Distance,  It will be on the first week of build period (also at the end of semi-recovery week

Is it ok to run these two races on these dates? or would i be better off following the trainning plan (Ill be using the BT Half Iron 20 week Plan).

Thank you as always for any feedback you could help me with.

I have my first him in July and before then ill have 2 sprints and an oly...I back off training intensity the 3 days before the race and take the 2 post race to ease back into things. These mini b/c level races are great motivators, fitness gauges and test races for your a races s can be used for your fitness benchmarks in your training.

Seems like a very good idea. Races like this can be a good way to gauge how your training is going, and to give you near-term goals.

As for integrating with the HIM plan, you need to just listen to your body and adjust the plan for a few days either side where needed. Deviating from the plan is much better for you than getting injured by pushing too hard right after an Oly race.
