I have multiple ideas to finish the metal flag above, but would love some input.  I have thought about leaving it alone and just clear coat.  One large star, or just a few random stars.  I am not trying to make an exact copy, just something different.  I was thinking even of making a white star out of wire and painting it white and then possibly attaching with some rivets from the back.

16" x 31" approximate size.

BTW, I have been struggling with finishing this one for about a month.  I finally decided to do red, white, blue in the last few days.

In your idea of finishing this piece you said maybe one slightly bigger star. That reminds me of "the star of Texas" that I see everywhere in the state. If you wanted an additional challenge (as if doing these is not tough enough (I already bought the tri circle from you and love it)) you could make some that are state icon specific. For example the "symbol" for Louisiana is the Flue de lis. If you were to put one of those in the blue I would be interested in purchasing one.

Just an idea... Good luck      k.

Here is what I finally went with for the flag.  This is probably going to hang in the shop, until the wife sees it and then she will want it in the house somewhere.

This is my coat rack/medals rack that I made for myself.  Probably going to change the color back to black, but was thinking the twisted wire looked like licorice, so I tried red.  The black knobs are actually antique porcelain door knobs.  Not sure if this is coming to work or going in the shop or the music/exercise room.
