Subject: New bike won't fit old rack

Tried to put my new P2 on the back of my Jeep using my trusty spare tire bike rack and it doesn't fit!  The arms of the rack are too far apart to place both arms in between the bike posts.  Is there a trick to make this work, or is it time for a new rack?  Thanks in advance.

I had a friend who had that problem and she bought this bar from REI that attaches from your seat post to your stem which made it just wide enough to hang on the bike rack.  It looks like this:

I had the same problem when I first tried to use a standard bike rack.  The geometry of the frames can make it difficult to fit.  I ended up buying a hitch mounted rack that the tires just sit in.  Much more versatile and you don't have to worry about scratching or denting frame.
