Defiantly would be cool if they added a few more locations with the sport growing.

I guess if they keep filling up...

BUT I can't help to think that they could be eventually spreading themselves too thin.  It will be interesting to see which will be the first to go due to lack of participation.  I wonder how long they would try to keep something going.

WTC would love to go into Myrtle Beach and destroy Beach2Battleship in Wilmington - only 50 miles up the coast. Typical of WTC - they spare no-one in their path. Of course it is business but you know WTC would love for B2B to fail, being that B2B is the biggest non-WTC iron distance race in the country. I think they get 750 for their iron distance race and over 1,250 for their Half.

That's right...  Just a 70.3 now.

At least I did that one before it went away.

It will be interesting to see as Asheville, NC and Hilton Head, SC have submitted bids along with Myrtle Beach.

Rumor is that WTC will pick one for a September 2014 race, but nothing is guaranteed.

I heard Boulder was putting in a bid for a full IM as well.

Yeah, agree here, especially with some of the big sponsors that have pulled out in the past few years due to whatever reason (Ford and Gatorade were two for IM WI).

I honestly don't care where they put it, I would love Myrtle Beach because family has a condo on the strip so it would be free place to stay, Hilton Head would be a beautiful place for vacation, Asheville is only 45 minutes from where I live....With FL and Louisvill being the only two races in the area and Louisville being probably top three hardest due to heat issues...that is why FL fills up so fast.  Adding another race in the fall season to the SE would be fantastic and willing to bet would sell out.

I don't know if they will put B2B out based on the price difference.  B2B is a lot cheaper an entry fee which will always bring people in, plus I remember it being rated one of the top races with location.  Race is amazingly supported by the entire city.

As for Hurricane issues, FL is during that season and so is B2B...Florida is Nov-2 and B2B is Oct-26.  Official hurricane season in the Southeast is Jun-1 - Nov-30.  Not sure how many times these races have been altered due to weather.
