Would it be a really bad idea to do this without a wetsuit? I'm a strong swimmer so don't need the buoyancy, but I don't want to freeze. I am thinking of doing the .25 mile and the .5 mile swims but don't own a wetsuit. Any idea what the water temps are like? Air temps are supposed to be in the 80s all week.

I checked, right now the water temp is 65.5 degrees. This week, it has fluctuated from 56-68 degrees from night to day. Pretty cold. I wanted to go no wetsuit but I'll probably wear one.

You can continue to check the temps here: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/usa/nwis/uv?03228805

Had a great weekend up at Alum Creek w/ the Greenswell crew. Thanks for hosting both events! It was awesome to see so many new comers, and veterans alike, out giving everything a go.
