Subject: Back after a few seasons off
Hi,

I am recently getting back into tris after taking a few years off (I had twins, then decided to try marathons, then found out I needed ankle surgery, then got back into marathons, then decided I found running by itself somewhat boring). My first race back was the Athleta Irongirl sprint. I was fairly happy with my times (swim excluded). I was in the top 20 (out of 120) of my AG, and top 15% of the field. I know not impressive but I was happy with that for my first time back. I really need to work on my swim... Anyway, I am looking forward to my next tri (and last of the season- I was late to the tri party this year), the Northshore Triathlon in Wilmette, IL. Keeping my head down and doing lots of biking and running (and some swimming- man, I need to learn to love swimming) until then! I can't wait to become more involved on these boards!

Thanks,

Nicole

The off season should be just that – a time to rest your body, to rehabilitate injury, and to plan ahead on how to improve performance and prevent injury in the season to come.

The off-season is the best time to fine tune your skills and prepare yourself for the next season. It is also time for you to gain some strength and get a little rest after a long season of training.

If you develop a strategy for the off-season, you can go into the next season stronger than you ended the past season.
