I've seen this dude at several events this year in Ontario - both running and triathlons. He absolutely crushes the entire field, including the elites and pros. He won every triathlon this year with clear margins.

Then at the Ironman Muskoka 70.3, he wins first place and crushes the pro field. Amazing.

His running is incredible - usually 3min/km and this ends up being his strongest point (not that these top triathletes have many weaknesses).

Most interesting part, he's spoken openly about struggles with mental health in the past, including severe episodes of depression and suicidal thoughts.

Incredible individual. I'm very impressed.

Is this gentleman ready for ITU or the Olympics?

Check him out on sportstats.ca

Fantastic results for 70.3 and it is very cool that he speaks openly about mental illness; he very likely has a future at 70.3 and maybe IM racing if he decides to pursue those events.

However, he would likely be lapped out of most ITU events as he wouldn't even have a sniff of the main pack and would be simply TTing to stay clear of the lead pack. If he can get his swim in order he may have a chance but for now there is likely a reason he's not racing draft legal.

1:23/100 I would agree with Shane. Brent McMahon and Kyle Jones would destroy him. Besides plenty of lesser known elites workibg their way in the Canadian ITU squad. This guy is a long course specialist in my opinion.

X3

With his present swim times he has absolutely no chance of being competitive in draft legal racing.

Interesting. You guys are right. I didn't really look at the swim too close. For me it was more that his 10km is close to 30 mins. But I do agree, needs a strong swim time for ITU.

Amazing how these guys are essentially flawless at each discipline.
