If you are like me you probably have Le Tour coverage from the race website minimised on your computer at work and check in every now and again. (Go on admit it)
One thing I have noticed is they can be a bit lacking in their photo coverage. There are some excellent pictures at the BBC website for those who are interested http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/cycling/photo_gallerie...
The sport section of the BBC also has excellent race coverage.

That is a great picture! I was listening to it this morning so it's good to have the picture to go with now. Thanks!

And, love the signature line on your post.

i know this is kinda old news, but as i haven't been around much i haven't had a chance to share.

my husband and i were in murat and watched stage 10 of the tour... here are some pictures, and a recap from my journal:

if you remember, frenchman richard virenque and belgian axel merckx had a substantial breakaway from the peloton, and virenque had dropped merckx at the last climb. the excitement among the french spectators was palpable: bastille day, and looking like virenque will repeat last year's win for france on bastille day.

he is looking good as he comes by:

merckx is not too far behind, and still ahead of the peloton:

the yellow leader's jersey - at the time worn by voeckler - is in the next pack to pass by:

and the groups keep coming:

tyler hamilton, slightly right of center, in the white/green/yellow phonak jersey. if you look closely you can see he is wearing a red dog tag around his neck in honor of his dog tugboat ::who died that morning::

i still haven't figured out which postal rider this is. i did see lance go by, but it was hard to pick people out of the field to photograph.

after the whole field passed, we walked back down to that bar, and watched the televised coverage, sipping on stella artois.
