Is anyone planning on running the Seattle Marathon this year?

This will be my first marathon so it's becoming the focus of my training. I hear the course is pretty rough for a first timer. Any insight?

Thx.

Jeff

I ran a 3:13 somewhere else, and then decided to shoot for Boston using the Seattle marathon. Yeah, it kicked my butt the first time, and I hit the wall at mile 20. See, the thing with Seattle is that there are super steep hills that come out of nowhere. While the beginning of the race is pretty flat, late in the race they stick some of these hills in to ruin your day.

My advice is to train with hills and hold back for as long as possible on race day. It's kind of generic advice, but it will work for Seattle.

Want to do the Marathon again and do better than last year.  But training has been slow.  And visions of the Half keep floating through my head.

I am w/ B Space on this one.. I am in for the 1/2 probably. Can very easily be pursued to do the full. But the 1/2 seems more "doable" 3 days after Thanksgiving!

I am in for the 1/2....did it last year.

I am interesting in doing a full....but don't want my first to be seattle due to the hills.

Phoenix in Jan is a better possiblity for me since it is FLAT! I did the 1/2 last year and it was sooo much easier than seattle. Plus...I get to see 2 NHL hockey games and a free concert!

GOOD LUCK on whatever you decide.

Just registered this morning for the Marathon.  Somehow I've got to loose some weight before the 26 of November.
