Can you give a bit more background on where you started and your specific event. For a sprint, I probably wouldn't do much of a taper and due to the quick nature of the race, I wouldn't focus much on carbo loading. I'd make sure you are rested and hydrated. Eat several hours before the race with a meal that is easy to digest and then about 30 minutes before the race, take a bit of nutrition.
