Swim: 37h 34m 20s - 116131.42 Yd
Bike: 130h 45m 28s - 2179.1 Mi
Run: 133h 08m 19s - 888.72 Mi
Basketball: 16h 43m

Down across the board (and no yoga this year..odd) but up about 100 miles in the bike from last year. Very happy with the load considering life threw a lot at me this year! Goal for next year is to remain consistent with all 3 disciplines and go over 1000 mi running.

Nice totals Marc.................for and old guy...

Ya, us old guys have to work harder to keep up with the youngsters.

I am sitting here wondering where I am going to find the time to up these numbers

2013 will be flat on the swim, more bike and more swim. Injuries not getting in the way of course

I think I need an extra day every week

I was injured nearly half the year, so, not very impressive.  However, I've been doing a good running build (finally) and logged 227 running miles in December alone- so  I'm Baaaaack.

On the interesting note my run total was actually 99 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds... not quite sure I could've planned that if I tried... over the course of 100's of runs to come in one second under 100 hours.  I might run to my car tonight after work just so I can say I ran 100 hours in a year!

Swim: 20 Hours 57,600 meters

Bike: 79 Hours 1271 miles

Run: 100 Hours 1587 miles

Strength: 72 Hours

Not sure if this came up, but training peaks beta doesn't correctly show the totals if it hits over 100 hours.. (also maxes out on TSS at 9999.0)

Just so people know not everyone has big numbers:

Swim: 5011.64 Metres

Bike: 47 hours (485 miles road)

Run: 70 h - 376 miles

Several injuries in 2013 for me.

This thread needed some metric .  I was aiming for 700 miles for the year, fell 8 miles short.   But my running is up over 200km from last year, despite being injured for first few months,so I can't complain!

Wow, some of y'all have some very impressive numbers.

Here's my 2013 data. I think I may have set the new record low for time spent swimming this year for folks responding to this thread...yay me!?!

Swim: 9h 58m - 29250 Yd
Bike: 120h 54m - 2252.53 Mi
Run: 85h 12m - 582.38 M

Just did one race in 2013, so 2014 should be more with two races on my calendar - Syracuse 70.3 and IMMT - but probably not crazy more. We'll see.

Happy new year to all!

Hmm, my logging is a bit primitive, so that took some sorting. And the damage is:

Swim: barely worth counting.
Bike: 2405 miles.
Run: 1349 miles.

I wasn't really a triathlete this year. I did a token amount of swimming to prep for an early season race, but that race was canceled the morning of the race. So much for that. Biking was very uneven. Apart from races, I think I rode outdoors a total of 3 times all year, the rest was all on the trainer. I mostly rode a lot when when I wasn't able to run much. And when I was doing half-hearted duathlon prep. Bike highlight of the year was the thrill of racing up the side of Mt Washington. Running was also pretty uneven, with many weeks of nothing or very little, as I wrestled with the (now largely banished) achilles problems. Running highlight of the year was ... well, I really don't think it was any race, it was just being able to get out there in all weathers and enjoy being able to run at my age. And appreciating the escape that it provides from all else that's going on in life.

  • .. ok, no. There were some specific running highlights. They involved being able to run in cool places, sometimes meeting up for runs with cool people who I've met via BT (Experior in S. Carolina; Asalzwed in Seattle; running along riverbanks in Berlin, London, and Cambridge (UK and US)).

  • Looking forward to 2014. Most targets are individual sports. Some big run goals in spring and fall, and some fun bike events (climbing!!) in the summer.

Swim: 109h6m16s. Few more hours than last year.
Bike: 190h43m53s. Good effort until April and then most of the rest was bike tours. Only did one tri in the summer and run focus all fall, seriously off the wagon (well, off the bike)
Run: 180h57m18s. About five more than last year despite injuries early in the year (hit by motorbike while biking) and not running much on summer vacation. Goal was 200h but due to late-year injuries didn't make it again.
Strength| 43h5m Not that impressive but more than last year.

Not sure what I've accomplished--staying in shape, I guess. Was very happy to be running pain-free after years of chronic low-grade stuff but back to hurting ever since being knocked down in last race and messing up hamstrings again.

    Bike: 301h 32m 59s - 4799.29 Miles

    Run: 115h 15m 39s - 759.8 Miles

Low run total due to 2 months off with a stress fracture, then the subsequent run/walk rehab routine.

My New Year's resolution this year is to really work on the bike and increase the quantity and quality of my bike work outs. I got myself a PowerTap as my Christmas present to myself and I am looking forward to training with power this year.

For 2013, I decided I liked running the best and it showed in the training. Still need to up the swimming but a definite improvement over 2012. Did half marathons and a marathon so needed some run training for those. But it definitely has made an impact - ran my PR 5k today (at 54) in a New Years Race at 21:15. 2013 was a lot of fun, injury free and looking forward to advancing into the 55-60 category and being the youngster on the block.

. Amazing! I don't know what my 11 yo swims, but I would guess 5500-6000 4-5 times a week. I would guess 1.2 million yards a year, with much of it non freestyle lol.

Yeah, he does a pretty good job of logging, but he missed some for sure.  Prolly closer to 1.4 million if he'd catch them all.  His tri coaches have done a really great job of saving his legs by doing really focused run/bike workouts while he builds his engine swimming.  That's going to start changing a bit now that he looks to be done growing.  I would say this year the swim stays the same but the bike/run total starts to ramp up.

You're right, it really is amazing to watch.  Like your daughter does, most of us could never hope to get those kind of swim yards because it just takes too long, but they can get 5-7000 per day only swimming a couple hours....and yeah.....probably 20% of it is butterfly. HAHAHA!!
