Looks good, sounds great for an entry level/intermediate bike. Haven't read any bad things about the bike. I did notice that the 2013 had Ultegra and the 2014 has 105 components. Is this a real big deal ? They are asking $ 1,799.00. Is that a fair price ?

Thoughts ?
Thanks in advance.

the steal would be to find a 2013 B16 still around that has the ultegra on it.  they originally sold for $2k-$2,200  and a few months ago were being picked up for under $1500.

but if you could spring a little more, go for the B12.  It has the new DA based frame.

Yeah, try and spring for a 2013 b16 if you find one. Got my 2012 b12 for a great price with DA components and have no regrets!

Found a 2012 B12 with Ultegra in great shape, asking 2,000.00. May need to look at that as well. The B16 with tax will be more then that. Going looking tomorrow.

Doesn't sound like a killer deal to me.  Same frame, slightly better crank, better cockpit- but I'd rather have a new B16.  The B12 comes with the TTR wheels, which are a good aero set of training wheels, but if you are planning on getting some race wheels anyway- they may be of little value.  If the bike has some upgrades and is in really good shape... maybe.

Thanks, I didn't realize they were the same frame, I guess the new b12 has a different frame. I do like the B16, was just hoping for a better deal somehow. I'll see what they can do for me.

I am trying a b16 today to see exactly what size. My road is a 54. I am not stuck on the B series. That is just what I was shown at the local shop so far in my price range. 2K

I have this 2011 cannondale slice (54) that's full carbon and with upgraded carbon basebar and extensions. rtc shifters, xlab rear mount and so forth. Very nice bike for $1850.

see here: http://s1164.photobucket.com/user/triguy44/library/2011%20Cannondale%20Slice%204

thanks, brian

the Slice and B16 are both well trusted, fine mid level tri bikes.

Chances are- you would fit on one of them, but not both.  The B16 is longer in the reach, typically for people with longer torsos and shorter legs.  The Slice - the opposite.  (which tends to be good for the typical female body type)  But, there's a lot more to fit than just body proportion.

Thanks guy's. I think I want to get a bike close to home. My son just bought a Cannondale and loves it, he is in Seattle.
I appreciate the input. Went to the shop and since it was raining decided to wait to do a test ride.

Not to play with you words and all, but a bike I ship to your doorstep will be as "close to home" as a bike can get.

Good luck either way... would be happy to help if needed. Thanks.

Triathlon style is no longer defined in the Nuevo replication of wool cycling jerseys and neon footwear. The style of swim/bike/run is a look and feel and way of being in the multisport world.

Work your weakness. In the sport of triathlon, most coaches agree that you should spend the most time working on your weakest of the three sports. For many of you this will be swimming!
