Veteran  298   West Henrietta, NY |  Subject: Need some advice...I have a set of HED carbon wheels, 650's, that came with a used bike that I bought. The rear is a disk and the front is a JET 60. These wheels are about 5-6 years old. I doubt I'll ever use them on this bike, as now I don't have a strong enough engine to warrant the wheels and when I get to that point it'll most likely be time for a new bike. Now, here is my question that I'd like some thoughts on. Should I sell the wheels or just go ahead and use them for races? If I were to sell them, what would be an approximate price range for them? Looks like you're pushing 20 now, you'll certainly gain from the aerodynamics of the wheels. Just wondering what your concerns are... If you need/want the money, sell them. Otherwise, ride them in good conscience. |

Veteran 298 West Henrietta, NY | Subject: RE: Need some advice... Thanks for the advice. I guess I didn't think being able to do 19-20mph was a good engine. Most of the top cyclist are at 21-22mph. I'm in much worse cycle shape this year than I was last year, but I won't make the same mistake in my training next year. I'll hold them, maybe do one of the Run-Bike-Runs that the local club does as a practice, and perhaps even try racing on them in the near future. Thanks again, Chris. |
